After months of construction, millions of dollars and lots of perseverance, the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science has unveiled the new Ecodiscovery Center. The museum is well known for stimulating curious minds of the young and old alike. Now with the new Ecodiscovery Center, they have twice the space and many more exhibits.
On the first floor you can watch otters at play, take an air boat ride on the Everglades in a state-of-the-art simulator, take a leap back in time to prehistoric Florida, or feel the rush of hurricane force winds in a hurricane simulator.
Ready for more adventure? Head up to the second floor where you can learn the Florida water story, visit the Keller Science Theater or learn a thing or two at the Mangurian Foundation Lifelong Learning Center.
If you haven’t been to the museum yet, or even if it’s been a while, you’ll surely find some food for your brain and candy for your soul!
The museum is located in the Arts & Science District, across from New River and the Riverwalk’s Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The area is also home to Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Bars and Restaurants on Himmarshee and beautiful waterfront homes.
