The Fort Lauderdale housing market continues as one of the key real estate markets leading the national recovery trend. According to third quarter results listed in the S&P/Case-Shiller index, home prices nationwide posted the largest percentage gain in over two years. This gain was the second straight quarter of year-over-year improvement.
“With six months of consistently rising home prices, it is safe to say that we are now in the midst of a recovery in the housing market,” said David Blitzer, chairman of the index committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices, in a press release.
The Case-Shiller indexes, created by economists Karl E. Case and Robert J. Shiller, are considered by leading economists to be one of the most reliable gauges of home values.
