Like flowers in spring, new restaurants will be sprouting around the Las Olas area in East Fort Lauderdale very soon! After a protracted period with little to no new development, the area is about to get an injection of fresh new restaurants and bars.
The first exciting development for foodies and folks that appreciate specialty food stores was the new Fresh Market that opened in February 2012. Located at 424 North Federal Highway, near Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the store conveys the atmosphere of an old world European market. From the old-style butcher shop and fish market, bakery, produce, floral stands and gourmet delicatessen, folks are sure to find inspiration for a wonderful meal.
Following are a few more exciting developments for your stomach and social calendar:
American Social
721 East Las Olas Boulevard
Featuring over 200 craft beers, wine, spirits and a unique menu, this neighborhood bar and restaurant will be filled with American history in a casual setting. The expected opening is May 2012.
The Grille
401 East Las Olas Boulevard
Filling the two-story space formerly occupied by Rare, this American cuisine restaurant is expected to open in Fall 2012. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and features a wine cellar.
Philippe by Philippe Chow
450 East Las Olas Boulevard
Haute Chinese dining concept famous for taking Beijing-style cooking to a new level will fill the long vacant Jackson’s Steakhouse this summer. Their new Fort Lauderdale address will fit in nicely with their list of other hip locations, including Miami Beach, Manhattan, Boca Raton, Los Angeles and West Hollywood.
S3
505 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard
Nestled on the ground floor of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, S3 (short for Sun, Surf and Sand) will feature mid-priced dining with a beach view. If this new project is anything like other Restaurant People establishments like Yolo, it’s sure to be a hit. Opening is scheduled for the end of summer 2012.
The Royal Pig Pub
350 Las Olas Boulevard
This high-end Irish pub will occupy the space previously known as Samba Room. A peek into the space revealed herringbone brick, leather, wood, concrete, huge bookshelves and modern light fixtures. The expected opening is the beginning of June.
We already know the Fort Lauderdale real estate market is heating up, now so will our social calendars!
