UPDATE: Fort Lauderdale Sun Trolley has been replaced by LauderGO! – a free community shuttle for the City of Fort Lauderdale.
A great way to get around Fort Lauderdale is by being chauffeured — on a Sun Trolley that is! This enjoyable and charming mode of transportation has gained popularity over the years for locals and visitors alike. Whether you need to get around Fort Lauderdale for work or play, the Sun Trolley is a great option.
Sun Trolley Routes
The red and yellow Sun Trolleys travel along seven routes, including Las Olas Boulevard, A1A, downtown Fort Lauderdale, to and from the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport, and even out to the city of Plantation! Each month, about 40,000 passengers enjoy this convenient and reliable public transportation to get to a host of popular destinations.
Catching A Sun Trolley
Boarding a Sun Trolley is much like hailing a taxi cab. All you have to do is stand in a safe place along any of the seven routes and wave to the driver, signalling that you would like to board the trolley. When you’re ready to get off the trolley, just let the driver know. It’s that easy!
Sun Trolley Cost
All Sun Trolley routes are free, except the Las Olas Link and Beach Link. Those routes cost $1.00 per ride, or $3.00 for an all-day pass. The accepted method of payment is cash only, which is due upon boarding the trolley.
Tracking Sun Trolley
Curious when the next trolley is coming? There’s an award-winning app for that! Check out the Sun Trolley Tracker App. There is a desktop, iPhone and Android version.
