Ceviche By The Sea
2823 E. Oakland Park Blvd.
This contemporary-designed restaurant is a favorite with everyone at the Luxury Living Fort Lauderdale real estate group. The Peruvian dishes, like the service, are excellent. Resident chef Carlos Delgado, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate, was voted Best Young Chef just three years ago at Mistura – the largest food festival in Latin America. If you’re planning to go during peak times, try to make a reservation. Every time we have been there the 55-seat restaurant was full.
Green Bar and Kitchen
1075 SE 17th Street
Blaise McMackin, owner of the wildly popular Tap42, opened this unique restaurant that promotes plant-based foods only. Their manifesto is to always be plant-powered, life harmonizing, mouthwatering wellness food. Moo-ve over meat, there are some tasty plant-based alternatives on the menu, which includes salads, pizza, GBK Burger, sandwiches, soup, beer, wine and smoothies.
Joe’s Seafood Shack
1451 N. Federal Hwy
If you visited this spot when it was Brick House Tap and Tavern, you will probably recognize a lot of the décor. Owners retired the former theme for a more family-friendly atmosphere. If you’re craving seafood, you’re likely to find a few favorites on the menu or at the raw bar. Beware, every 20 minutes or so employees break out into song and dance. Think Johnny Rockets. If you’re looking for tranquility or a romantic spot for a date, this might not be for you. However, if you’re looking for fun, put on your bib and get ready!
Kaluz Restaurant
3300 E. Commercial Blvd.
It’s hard to believe Roadhouse Grill restaurant used to be at this location. The new owners did a terrific job designing a contemporary restaurant. Plus, they made good use of the waterfront location with large windows for diners to enjoy the view from inside. Just outside there are tables for dining on the edge of the dock on two tiers and at the far end is a large lounge-like outside bar. The menu choices are considered to be American Continental with your typical options like seafood, pasta, fish and steak.
Mancini Modern Italian
401 E. Las Olas Blvd, Suite 150
You could easily drive by this restaurant without noticing it if you didn’t know where to look, since it’s located on a less-traveled side street. The area in general has seen a much-welcomed revival with a fresh injection of new bars and restaurants like American Social, The Royal Pig and Grille 401 (see New Restaurants Coming to Fort Lauderdale 2012). The restaurant features an open-atmosphere with a views into the kitchen, a large indoor / outdoor bar and sidewalk seating. The menu is features classic and new Italian dishes, all prepared under the supervision of head chef Roger Llames – formerly with BLT Prime in New York.
Myapapapya Juicery Kitchen
1040 Bayview Drive
If Whole Foods created a restaurant, I imagine this would be it. From fresh juices at the juice bar to healthy menu options like the Whole Grain Bowl (filled with quinoa, brown rice, tomatoes, purple cabbage, carrots, scallion and topped with avocado), this is a great spot to grab a healthy bite to eat – or drink.
PDQ

In short, you get fresh food fast and delivered with personal service. This fast-casual restaurant serves hand-breaded chicken, hand-tossed salads, hand-spun milkshakes and fresh cut french fries. Plus, they have no freezers, so everything is fresh. The atmosphere is lively and with the open floor plan, it can be entertaining as well. Founder of Outback Steakhouse Bob Basham and his partner Nick Reader just might be on to something!
Shula Burger
1515 SE 17th Street
Legendary Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula expanded his restaurant business by creating a more casual dining experience. Filled with burgers, fries, beer and wine, this fancy-burger establishment is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Competition includes Tap42, ROK:BRGR and BurgerFi.
Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille
620 E. Las Olas Blvd.
The historic Riverside Hotel now has a hip seafood, raw bar and grill. The bar area is large for those looking to quench their thirst. The dining area is pleasant and accented with live nightly music. Their claim is fresh seafood with an emphasis on organic products and a menu that changes seasonally in order to promote sustainability.
Voodka
817 E Las Olas Blvd.
Fear not if you thought this eclectic lounge / restaurant would only have unrecognizable Russian dishes. Instead they have an extensive list of vodkas, a bit of caviar and popular American Continental cuisines like steak, crab cakes, pasta, Caesar salad, burgers and chicken. At night you can’t help but to notice this place when passing by, especially on the weekends when the DJ is pumping out the beats.
