Two Ladies Fort Lauderdale Neighborhood

Whether you’re a new or established homeowner, chances are you could benefit from learning more about your Fort Lauderdale neighborhood. For the new homeowner, once the moving boxes have been unpacked, it’s time to venture out and get to know your new neighborhood. For the established homeowner, it’s never too late to start acting like a tourist!

If you’re the social butterfly type, getting to know your neighborhood in new and different ways comes easily. You’ve most likely already taken muffins to the neighbors, scheduled play dates for your children, and found your favorite coffee shop through trial and error.

For those of us who need a little help venturing out and doing things out of our comfort zone, we’ve put together a quick list of easy and creative ways to get to know your Fort Lauderdale neighborhood. These tips can help you discover new and exciting things that are close to home.

Tips on learning more about your Fort Lauderdale neighborhood:

1. Take A Stroll

One of the best ways to get to know your neighborhood is to go for a walk – get a little lost even. Resist the urge to reach for your car keys. You miss a lot when you see the city through only your car window, or use navigation to get from point A to point B. Instead, go for a walk in a different direction every weekend. Stop to sit in parks, take the time to look in store windows and strike up conversations with fellow walkers. The more you browse your surroundings, the more you will learn and feel at home.

2. Ask Your Realtor

At Luxury Living Fort Lauderdale, we pride ourselves on being neighborhood experts. We live, work and even find time to play in this great city. That’s one of the reasons we’re so good at helping clients successfully buy and sell luxury real estate. That’s also one of the reasons we can help you get to know the area better. We are always an email or phone call away.

3. Start Couponing

Another great way to learn about a neighborhood is through discount marketplaces like Groupon, LivingSocial, and Thrilllist. These organizations provide a curated list of local experiences, stores, and restaurants —often at a discount. Select a coupon at random every chance you get. Before you know it, you’ll likely have discovered more interesting places than your neighbor!

4. Read A Ton

We are fortunate to live in an area that always seems to have fun and interesting things to do and see. Local papers and blogs are great sources of information.  Paroose these resources regularly to keep up to date on what’s going on.

If you haven’t already, “Like” our Facebook page. We regularly post local information like events, new construction projects and great places to eat. We also have local information sections on the Luxury Living Fort Lauderdale website that we update often, including Attractions, Lifestyle and Restaurants.

5. Start Volunteering

Volunteering can be a great way to meet like-minded neighbors and feel like a local. Everything from pounding the pavement for local political campaigns, to donating time supporting charitable causes can be an enriching experience. Check the newspaper or social groups to find local chapters.

Navigating Your Neighborhood

Learning about your Fort Lauderdale neighborhood will help to enrich your luxury lifestyle. Try a few different approaches and before you know it, you’ll be a neighborhood expert!
